The Impacts of Hull UK City of Culture 2017

Thursday 15th and Friday 16th March 2018

Workshops

On Friday 16th March, two workshop discussion sessions will be run in parallel with the main programme as follows:

Culture and Community

Time: 9.30 – 10.50

This workshop will focus on local experiences within Hull UK City of Culture 2017, considering the benefits and challenges for community based arts organisations within cultural mega events.

The workshop is led by Vickie Bissett (University of Hull, Culture Place and Policy Institute). Speakers include Louise Yates (Creative Director, Hull Creative People and Places) and Dr Sarah-Jane Dickenson (University of Hull, School of Arts).

Being Involved

Time: 13.30 – 14.40

This workshop will focus on individual, volunteer and small community group engagement within the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 programme, inviting a personal and community response to some of the evaluation findings and asking participants to reflect upon ‘what could this mean for me in the future’?

The workshop is led by Shaun Crummey (Head of Volunteering, Hull 2017).

Workshop places are limited and delegates wishing to take part should register for their chosen session when making their conference booking.  Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
